Day Two - Tahquamenon Falls and Whitefish Point

Our destination for this day was Tahquamenon State Park, but some of us don't follow directions well, turned off the highway, and headed for  the Point Iroquois lighthouse, which has a very scenic location on the Lake Superior shoreline. The drive along the shoreline was also nice.

Another stopping point was Whitefish Point, where there is another lighthouse and a museum about shipwrecks on Lake Superior.

Strolling along the beach with your dog is always a pleasure. "No, pooch, you can't go swimming!"

It seems that Roadtrekkers have a special affinity for pets, especially dogs. Why is that?

Just sitting a watching the view while chatting with other Roadtrekkers is also great fun.

The upper falls are the highlight of Tahquamenon State Park. The falls are about 200 feet wide and 50 feet high.

Being early October the fall color was starting peak in the UP.

Some of the gang that headed to the Tahquamenon Brewpub for a few cold ones and dinner. As far as I know, this is the only state park that has its own brewpub. Michigan is outdoing Wisconsin in this respect.
